E DO ME WELL

Image
What a Terrific Time to come back! I know you all must have pondered on my whereabouts. Well, I wasn't kidnapped OR adultnapped, neither did I go to Dubai.. It's been work all through. I know you can feel the excitement as CHANGE is already taking place, why won't I be excited? I have a lot of gists for you but lets jump to the current matter. After meeting and being offered the opportunity to FLY his profile and NEW RELEASE, i was dead drunk in JOY..hahahaha. It's not a movie even though the VIDEO is in the works already. Guess who and what I am whining about... The incredible IKAGWU JOE..  For those of you who don't know him, here is a brief review... Joseph Ikawgu Abutu fondly Known as (Ikagwu Joe) is a gospel minister sent to deliver God's people from all oppression via music. A graduate of Geo-planning from kogi state university has been in the music circles for quite a long time. He is highly regarded for his hit song "Odoba" which was nomi

SHE WASN”T WOMAN – SHE IS A MAN

Sometimes, I want to be hugged when am being silly and sad, At times, I need to be flogged especially when I miss my dad, The thickness of his laughter and the shrillness of his eyes The excess love for his daughter, the experiments with creams of ice The shadowy protection of his height and the nastiness of cheating lies The frequency of their fight till mum of the house took flight The soul of matrimony pictures now dead And the love story leaves me confounded The first night without her was horror filled With replays of mom’s face, tear filled And the new glasses she now did wear For the sunlight she could no longer bear No advocate to plead her case For her parents lives within heaven’s gate No flower in the center vase For our home was long gone with fate In pains, we saw her a year later Sunken and emaciated And the hatred for injustice grew greater Drunk in helplessness, am a kid

DARK TIMES

Image
The Darkest Phase of a Man's life can't be shared even by his wife, divided by bits with the sharpest of knives. It is meant to be borne by him and I mean him alone. For some people, it is that time when they lose someone so special, probably a parent or a dear friend and no help seems to come in the form of the proverbial silver lining in dark clouds. It could be the health issue, that integrity-related problem, the non forth-coming college admission,capital-raising funds, who to love or what next to do in life. Regardless of the form in which it occurs, every one must face it -head on! The response to that phase is consequential to the outcome of the man; its like the furnace in which crude oil is refined, the hotter the temperature, the difference in what product emerges. Like Jesus in the period of pre-cruxification who felt alone and helpless, he tried everything to push it away, yet when he resigned himself to fate that was when he faced it head-on like a raging bull

STANDING FRIEND

Image
A very Terrific Black Friday it was yesterday, with all the shopping I did (in my mind though!) even as a question boggled my mind. Why was it Black Friday not White or Red? That's a Story for the other day. I was so pleased when someone asked to meet our poet yesterday (Kolawole Salami ) and I said Facebook him. The benefits of friendship especially when its true with no shades of black in between can be pure euphoria. Takes me to the note IYANU ADEBIYI wrote and yes I didn't forget our short review on her; but before then, enjoy this with your morning Coffee! Standing Friend   You were there when there was fear in my mind, during the phases of bad times, with trouble waters drowning me and i could only but panic. When pain filled my body, and tears flooded my eyes till I saw seven stars. I bit my lips wailing with worry in self pity. You lifted me high and made me r

I am in a Dream!

Image
With the discovery of some awesome writers and poets and stories that blows the mind away, begging our subconscious to reason on real issues; It's been a sweet week, I must say.  Here is something I would call a throw-back by A wicked poet KOLAWOLE SALAMI Kolawole Salami I'm in a dream I'm in a dream, standing by a junction With a path to my left and another to my right With a knowing that I should go right But a desire to walk on left. It's a dream after all, no choice is wrong. Straight ahead is a pile of green dust, Swirling round a sand baked castle Standing firm in a farm of maize Secretly kept, but impossibly obvious I'm in a dream, and people are running I join them, and my steady legs take flight They move forward quickly But my legs are taking me backwards, The quicker they move, the more of the past I see, I see as I stepped out of the house with the desire to go left, But they keep carrying me backwards, fur

The Entrepreneur Shit!

Image
Permit me to use the word "shit" as I sincerely hope not to offend your sensibilities. A notification popped on my laptop, notifying me of an event hosted by Founders Institute that I needed to register for at www.fi.co Trust me, since it had to do with meeting the CEO of SimplePay , Mr. Simeon Ononobi and the CEO of Tsaboin (The traffic app that seriously gist's us on traffic in Lagos) Mr. Dele Odufuye , at a Superb location Savoy Suites, G.R.A Ikeja, Why not! I noted it on my calendar and made it there. Funny enough, as privileged meetings go, it was for the Exclusive "we" and that is where my shenanigans start. It was quite amazing to see the passion, discipline and focus written on these men faces as they narrated their experience, Thank God they didn't tell stories else....else what? I would have still sat there. As, I was saying, they spoke about how they Pitched their ideas, got funding and the pitfalls of a bad pitch.  As they spoke,

Who No Like Vacation Trip...But na money things

Image
Truth be told, I have always wondered why the " Real " Nigerians don't go on vacation and when I say "Real", I mean the everyday man that earns an average of 250000 per annum. I watch a white fella wake up on a rainy day, pick a flight to God knows where to have their " Meeee" time.  Mr. 2kay sang " Who no like better thing" and tchai,  na money kill am o (who doesn't like the good life, it just involves money) .  When a man wakes up by 4 am to beat traffic (Literally!) only to arrive the office at 7:45, meeting a screaming boss! -not all bosses are wicked, Just saying. Rushes home to miss dinner, because he had another rendezvous with traffic again. With his meagre salary, annoying economy and many extended responsibilities, how do you expect him to budget for a vacation? Not to mention, he can't even use his proverbial leave days... Blahhh! This is the reality of the Nigerian dude against his hopes and wishes of having that d
